For Parents

The Youth Assistance Program provides support for children and families facing challenging life circumstances. Our services range from tutoring and mentoring to counseling referrals, food assistance, and more, and are different from program to program. Our goal is to provide early intervention to help youth and families overcome obstacles and build a foundation for success.

Referrals can be made by school counselors, law enforcement, the Department of Child Services (DCS), the Prosecutor’s Office, and other community organizations. Families can also reach out directly to request services. Once referred, our Early Intervention Advocate (EIA) will connect with you to discuss your family’s needs and create a personalized plan.

No, our services are free, confidential, and voluntary. Thanks to generous donors and community partners, we can offer all of our services at no cost to families.

Each child’s needs are different. Depending on your child’s unique situation, we may provide academic tutoring, mentoring, referrals for mental health counseling, family support resources, or other tailored assistance. Our goal is to support your child’s well-being and development in every way possible.

For Teachers

If you believe a student could benefit from our services, please contact your school’s counseling office or an Early Intervention Advocate (EIA) to discuss a referral. We work closely with schools to ensure students receive the resources they need to succeed.

Once a referral is received, our Early Intervention Advocate will reach out to the student’s family to discuss Youth Assistance services and assess their needs. If the family consents to participate, we develop a personalized support plan and connect them with appropriate resources.

Teachers play a crucial role in the success of our program by identifying students who may need support. Additionally, spreading awareness about the Youth Assistance Program within the school community can be a tremendous help. We also welcome teacher involvement in program events and volunteer opportunities.
