Supporting Hamilton County’s Youth and Families
The Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program serves as an early intervention advocate for youth ages 3-17 who are navigating challenging life circumstances.
Our mission is to connect families with the resources, talents, and services available within our community, providing holistic support and empowerment for both youth and their caregivers.
Founded as a pilot program in Westfield, Indiana, in 2009, the Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program quickly gained the trust and support of community stakeholders. This positive response led to the program’s expansion into Noblesville in 2012, followed by Fishers and Hamilton Heights in 2014, and then Carmel and Sheridan in 2015. Each community now benefits from the support of dedicated Early Intervention Advocates who work under the guidance of Hamilton County Superior Court 1.
The program is inspired by the Oakland County, Michigan Youth Assistance Program, which was established in 1953 and has seen lasting success. Recognizing a shared commitment to youth well-being, Hamilton County leaders adapted the Oakland County model to create a proactive, community-driven approach to addressing the unique needs of local youth and families. By coordinating with local individuals, service providers, and organizations, we harness our community’s collective strengths to support the healthy development of Hamilton County’s young people.
Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and families by offering the tools, guidance, and community support they need to thrive.
Program Funding
The Hamilton County Youth Assistance Program is built upon a strong private/public partnership that brings together a wide network of dedicated supporters. Our collaborative approach includes the active involvement of our Board Members, Hamilton County leadership, and the cities of Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers, and Carmel, as well as the Hamilton Heights and Sheridan communities.
A cornerstone of our success is our close partnership with local school corporations, including Westfield-Washington, Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern, Carmel Clay, Sheridan, and Hamilton Heights. These educational partnerships allow us to reach youth and families directly, providing vital resources and support where it matters most.
Additionally, we are grateful for the instrumental role the Central Indiana Community Foundation played in the development and expansion of the Youth Assistance Program. This initiative laid the foundation for the positive impact we continue to make today.
Our mission thrives through the collaborative efforts of all these stakeholders, each bringing unique strengths and resources to support Hamilton County youth and families. Together, we’re making a lasting difference—one family at a time.
